This worksheet serves as a companion to the fourth page of “The Fall of Freddie the Leaf”, page 81 of New Horizon 3. It should be used after the students have finished this page.

1. Fill in the Blanks. This section is a paraphrased version of the textbook. Have the students fill in the blanks using words from the box. Review the answers.

2. T or F. First, have the students write down their answers. Then have all of the students stand up. Read each question and have the students answer as a group through show of applause. (i.e. the ALT announces “True!” and “False!” and students clap for whichever they think is correct) Students may sit down after answering 3 questions correctly. Any students who remain standing at the end may then sit down (you may optionally quiz them first as a “batsu-game” punishment).

3. Write your story. This segment is optional. Students write their essays outside of class and present them to the ALT for correction. Students may be given extra credit or a prize for completing an essay.
